Welcome to Alpha program!
«God wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth»
1 Timothy 2:4
Is Alpha for you?
The Alpha program is a ministry to connect Rowlett and the surrounding community with Christ, to encourage our members in their relationship with Christ and to build a stronger community within our parish. Alpha is for anybody, no matter where you are on your faith journey. Whether you have a faith that is vibrant, or a faith that you're really not sure what you believe, Alpha is for you. Alpha is a safe place for people to engage in the Christian faith in a comfortable environment.
If you are 18 or older and desire to be more deeply grounded in your relationship with Christ, better connect with and help grow the Parish community, as well as to reach out to Rowlett and the surrounding area for Christ we encourage you register for the Alpha program. Don’t miss out on being involved in this new and exciting direction for our Parish!
Alpha Spanish sessions will begin Thursday February 22nd from 7-9 pm until Thursday April 25th 2024.
Spanish Alpha sessions will begin in February.
The Alpha experience...
Find out how Jenny Nuño has lived the Alpha experience and how she has felt with this program at St. Ann Parish.
What is an Alpha session like?
Whether it's a group of friends gathered around the kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has the ability to bring people together. At Alpha it's no different. All sessions start with food because it's a great way to build community and get to know each other.
Talks are designed to spark interest and inspire conversation. They usually last about thirty minutes and can be live or on video. They explore the big themes around faith and unpack the fundamentals of Christianity, addressing questions ranging from "Who is Jesus?" and "How can we have faith?" to "Why and how do I pray?" and "How does God guide us?".
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There is no obligation to say anything and there is nothing that can't be said. It's an opportunity to listen to others and bring your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. No question is out of place and you can talk as much or as little as you want.
