Mission Statement: As Christian adults, we have a moral and legal responsibility for the spiritual, emotional, and physical well being of children, youth, and vulnerable adults as they participate in activities within, or sponsored by, our Diocese. It is our responsibility and commitment to provide, to the best of our ability, an environment which is safe and nurturing.
Purpose:

To provide a safe and secure environment for the children, youth, and vulnerable adults of our parish.

To assist the Diocese in evaluating a person's suitability to work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

To satisfy concerns of parents and staff members with a careful screening process.

To provide a system for responding to victims and their families, as well as the accused.

To reduce the risk exposure of the parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas.

To eliminate, as best as we can, the possibility of false accusations against the clergy, employees, and/or volunteers.
Who must be cleared by the Diocesan Safe Environment Program?
- All Clergy
- All paid staff members
- All ministers/volunteers who work with, or have significant contact, with children, youth, or vulnerable adults.
What is required to become a cleared adult?
A minister/volunteer must complete a screening process, which will include:
- Filling out a screening application
- Providing us with up to (3) personal references
- Having an Interview
- Giving us permission to complete a background check
All staff and volunteers must complete a Safe Environment Training Program annually. Please contact the parish safety officer if you have any questions or comments.

Please note that while these form may be submitted electronically, all pages requiring original signatures must be printed and physically returned to Sacred Heart.
Retraining: May be done via the internet every other year. The year following an internet retraining you must attend a training session at Sacred Heart or another Parish.
